Twelve years ago I moved to Hidden Valley in Maricopa. One by
one little critters started showing up at my door. Taking in
one or more at a time, not being able to turn anyone away, my rescue
began to grow. This year after watching Oprah's show on
"Puppy Mills", I knew I had to make a committment to thelp animals and
make it official. I am now a 501 (c) (3) animal rescue with
the help of Kimberly Diedrich from "Pet Social Worker", who walked me
through the steps I needed to take. The name of my rescue is
"PLEASE RESCUE ME".
- Today I have 27 dogs, 4 cats, 1 llama, 1 donkey, 8 pot-bellied pigs,
3 Pygmy goats, 12 rabbits, 2 cockatiels, 5 parakeets, 6 ducks, 3 geese,
2 turkeys, 2 peacocks, 2 roosters and a dozen chickens.
Almost every pet is here for the long haul, but we do have some dogs
who are up for adoption.
- Mainly I try to focus on finding homes for unwanted and abandoned
pets. It is very difficult to take in any additional pets
personally at this time because of the care necessary and the finances
needed. Sometimes I am able to find temporary foster homes
which are a blessing.
- In addition to rehoming, I help out with the arrangements to spay and
neuter pets. I make appointments and get discount coupons to
make it as easy as possible for you to have your pet fixed.
- I try to give you information on how to keep your pet instead of
giving it up for adoption. There are many things that can be
done to set up your house to keep a pet who may need some extra
care. There are ways to keep them outside, even in our
Arizona heat, that may be all you need to do to keep your pet.
- I work with the local shelters and the community to find homes and
find the owners of lost, abandoned and/or found pets in our area.
- Space is limited, but when available I do board dogs to make extra
income to feed all of the critters.
- Please call or email me if you have any questions or problems with
your pets. If I can't help I can recommend someone who may be
able to help you. There are low-cost vets who make house
calls in our area who may be of help.
- My place isn't fancy but it is clean and filled with lots of love and
compassion and care for all those who need a place to call
home. God bless you all and thank you for any help you can
give in the way of food, toys, blankets, kennels and funds.
Everything is appreciated.
